Step inside the way we were. Immerse yourself in America’s past when gas was cheap, phones had dials and soda came from a shoppe.
Enter Norman Rockwell’s imaginative world and touch the past as you become part of his most famous Saturday Evening Post art. Rockwell’s America is an interactive exhibition that transports you back in time to America’s twentieth century before advanced technology and the rigors of a high-speed life changed the way we live forever.
Take a break in Rockwell’s summertime -- climb aboard a Model T Ford and soak up the sun, listen to past baseball greats as you wander the park or stop by the fishing hole.
Travel America’s Main Street and experience life in the early 20th century. Visit The Schoolhouse with quill pens and ink wells, pop into The Soda Shop, or make a call from The Telephone Company switchboard and understand how telecommunications brought us all closer.
Drop in at Main Street Appliances to see the history of television and radios. Turn the dials of an antique radio, watch TV from yesteryear and marvel at emerging technologies and their influence on America.
Your journey continues as Rockwell’s art reflects the impact of a changing world on American life. Jump into a WWII Army Jeep, join the assembly line with “Rosie the Riveter,” as millions of women entered America’s workforce, and learn about the Civil Rights movement through Rockwell’s famous art.
Your experience culminates in the Tribute Gallery which includes all 322 of Rockwell’s Saturday Evening Post covers.
Rockwell’s America is a dynamic hands-on experience for the whole family and is FREE with regular Museum admission.
