Riverbend Lodging is located on the banks of the Tuckasegee River in Bryson City, North Carolina. Gateway to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Catch the "Great Smoky Mountain Railway" for a beautiful mountain gorge train trip from the Bryson City Depot.
Rafting and kayaking are very popular on the Nantahala and Tuckasegee Rivers. Kids love tubing on Deep Creek which is only 10 minutes from you door step. Try some fishing from our river dock for small mouth bass, walleye, catfish, brim and occasional trout, plus many mountain trout streams to explore and fish.
Mountain biking trails at "Tsali", one of America's ten most famous mountain biking areas, is just miles away. Hiking Deep Creek to view spectacular water falls plus walking the Appalachian Trail are very popular. Motor Cyclist love to stay at Riverbend to relax after riding the "Dragon Trail", "Deals Gap", plus don't miss golfing one of the most beautiful mountain courses in our area.
In addition, nearby "Cherokee", located 10 miles on the Cherokee Reservation, has many activities, which include Harrah's Casino, Cherokee Indian Museum and the live drama "Unto these Hills" which has been playing for 50 years.
We offer several categories of rooms. All eleven motel units are newly furnished. Besides our regular motel rooms that offer microwaves, refrigerators, and in-room coffee, we have a family efficiency unit; a small wood cabin; and a cottage that sleeps six.
Rates are not posted as they vary depending on time of year, type of unit, and weekday versus weekend arrival. Please call or email for information.
We have several different sizes and layouts for our rooms. Four rooms have two double beds with shower on the river and decks outside. We have two family size rooms with a double and queen bed and full bath. Two rooms, not on the river, have king beds with full baths. We also have two cozy, small rooms on the river (one smoking, one non-smoking) with queen beds including microwaves/refrigerators and coffee.
Our family efficiency unit has a queen bed and two twin beds, cooking facilities, picnic table and is adjacent the fishing area.
The cottage has two queen beds, one upstairs next to kitchen area with TV; the other downstairs with futon that makes out, TV and shower. A private picnic table and BBQ is adjacent.
Our non-smoking wood cabin has a private picnic area and enclosed porch with rocking chairs. It has a queen bed and a futon in the living area; satellite TV.
