Old Salem is a restored Moravian settlement where you can se what life was like in the 18th and 19th centuries. Durham is home to Duke University. Charlotte will open the NASCAR museum in 2007. If you are a race fan, Mooresville, aka “Race City, USA” is home to many NASCAR teams and drivers.
If it’s the coast you prefer, the Outer Banks are easily accessible by car or offer family summertime fun.
